RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS


The Home-Based Clinician in the Specialized
Services for Youth department assumes the responsibilities common to all direct
service and administrative positions as described in the Agency Manual.? The Home-Based Clinician in the Specialized
Services for Youth department will develop and use the various modalities of
service offered by the agency. The Home-Based Clinician in the Specialized
Services for Youth department reports to the Home-Based Supervisor of
Specialized Services for Youth department. The following represents a summary
of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents in this
position. Incumbents may be requested to perform related tasks other than those
specifically presented

Professional
Practice





  • The Clinician provides
    appropriate home-based services to a caseload in accordance with agency needs
    and the skill level of the worker.? The
    number of client contacts that the worker will be expected to have will be
    established by administration.

  • The Clinician is
    responsible to obtain, analyze and evaluate case data; develop an understanding
    of the client's situation and to develop goals and planned responses; carry out
    the plan and/or alter the plan as new understandings demand; analyze and
    evaluate the course and results of the treatment process, utilize
    evidenced-based practices as indicated.

  • Maintain clinical
    records in accordance with Agency, licensing, accreditation, Community Mental
    Health, Michigan Department of Community Health standards and requirements.

  • Actively coordinate
    cases with treatment team, peer specialists, Community Mental Health and any
    other appropriate staff.

  • Participate in
    professional development activities in accordance with state licensure
    requirements and any requirements of the funder, specifically in accordance
    with the Medicaid provider manual and Oakland Community Mental Health Authority
    requirements.

  • Complete mandated
    trainings and obtain approval through the Michigan Department of Community
    Health as a Home-Based Service Provider.

  • Additional duties may
    include client intake; volunteer recruitment and supervision, assignment to
    specific agency work sites; assignment to a special project or contract; provision
    of leadership to educational or counseling or volunteer groups; to work with
    community problems as interest and skill indicates; and other duties as
    assigned.




Administration





  • Perform the
    administrative tasks related to assigned caseload and other work assignments as
    required by the agency.

  • Perform selected and
    additional administrative assignments as required, including student
    supervision.

  • Provide assistance,
    support and leadership to other staff members through consulting, teaching and
    other means as appropriate, and to coordinate program activities when assigned
    to do so.




??Qualifications





  • LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC,
    TLLP, LLP or equivalent.

  • Successful completion
    of the requirements of a master?s degree from an accredited school of social
    work or equivalent in related field such as psychology or guidance and
    counseling as appropriate to the needs of the particular position.

  • State certification
    or licensure to the maximum level possible, commensurate with accrued
    experience and degree obtained.

  • One year of experience
    providing home-based services preferred, and minimum of one year of experience
    in the examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families.

  • Other special
    abilities, skills and credentials such as experience working in the Community
    Mental Health System, substance abuse qualifications, experience with youth
    with serious emotional disturbances, family systems work, trauma-informed care,
    delivery of home-based models and use of evidenced based models.

  • Good driving record
    required.

  • Special abilities and
    skills necessary to perform the required tasks and that best meet the needs of
    the agency also will be considered. Any standard above may be waived when
    compensating specifications or circumstances exist.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
